There’s something extraordinary that happens when you pause—not just stop moving, but truly pause. When you let the world fall away and simply listen.
In the Azores, I found that moment.
The wind here doesn’t just pass by; it speaks. As I stood near the volcanic rocks, surrounded by the raw beauty of the island, I closed my eyes and placed my hands gently on my heart. There was no music, no mantra—only the air, whispering in its own ancient language. A low, rhythmic hum, sometimes playful, sometimes powerful. It wrapped around me like a story only the island could tell.
And in that moment, I wasn’t thinking about where I’d been or where I was going. I wasn’t trying to control my breath or quiet my mind. I just listened—to the breath of the Earth. The air moved through my body, sweeping away thoughts, doubts, and noise, leaving only presence.
I felt the stillness behind the wind. A presence so vast and kind that tears welled up in my eyes—not from sadness, but from awe. From the realization that sometimes, you don’t need answers. You just need to remember you’re alive, here, now… and you’re part of something timeless.
Meditating in the Azores isn’t just a practice. It’s an experience. It’s the Earth inviting you to come home to yourself.
